Job Profile Operational Excellence Lead - Pharma

You will directly contribute to the direction of the Digitalization & Technology strategy on site where you will build and implement new solutions and strategies, both in data and in new technologies. You will be responsible for leading and developing a team of data automation engineers which will serve as a main point of contact for Data Strategy, Digitalization, New Technologies, Data Management and Data standards related subjects to the Leiden site.

The candidate should be a good communicator with accompanied collaboration and influencing skills, a passionate change agent, who should constantly keep pace with industry trends and new technologies. Having a good understanding about the challenges and opportunities of digitalization and Execution Systems within the company will work in your advantage.

Other responsibilities:

  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and build positive partnerships;
  • Act as a Coach and Mentor, Develop and Lead Execution Systems staff in a manner that will facilitate employee development, identifying training needs, stretch assignments and opportunities for development;
  • Build and lead the execution of the site Data strategy in close collaboration with Business & Technical Owners and provide architectural oversight for processes that provide raw data and ingest data into Common Data Layer;
  • Help build the digital roadmaps with operational and IT partners which clearly communicates the digital journey for change across the sites;
  • Lead a portfolio of Data & New Technologies projects and work closely with business, Digitalization & Technologies and IT functions to deliver data projects in timely and cost-effective manner;

Requirements Operational Excellence Lead - Pharma

Requirements for this role:

  • You have a degree (Bachelor's/Master's) in: Engineering, Industrial Automation, Information Technology or Computer Science;
  • At least 10-12 years of related experience in a biotechnological/pharmaceutical GxP regulated environment and proven knowledge of current Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP);
  • You are Intellectually curious about new technologies and are constantly learning in Data, AI & Cloud space. Preferably you have People Management experience;
  • Has the ability to think strategically and manage change and to collaborate effectively with all levels of management and drive alignment in a global environment;
  • Demonstrated understanding of data lifecycle required around data ingestion, data contextualization; data insights and analytics is required;
  • Familiarity with Data Management and Data Governance is an advantage;
  • Knowledge of Process Excellence tools (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred. Green or Black Belt Certification in Lean or Six Sigma is preferred;
  • Experience working in global teams with remote support and in leading digital projects to deliver to customer needs;
  • Experience on manufacturing process visualization and data analytics and affinity with (real-time) data flows and experience with one or more programming languages, for example: Python, R, SQL, Java or Scala and experience in BI software tools like Tableau, Qlik, Power BI

The offer consists of:

  • Competitive salary based on education and work experience between: €5800 and €6800 gross a month;
